GridPulse
gridPULSE is a network of Department of Energy national laboratories that possess unique instruments and facilities that can benefit grid modernization efforts. Many of these capabilities are found nowhere else in the world and are used to address large scale, complex research and development challenges. gridPULSE provides easy access to information and resources that match stakeholder needs with the national labs’ (and other stakeholders’) expertise and equipment.

CHALLENGE
Sandia National Laboratories, sought to further increase the number of applicants received through their Careers website and differentiate themselves from the other defense contractors. The goal was to reinvigorate the employment brand, repackage the collateral materials and redesign their online presence. The Careers website was strategically developed to integrate the employment brand and highlight the labs technical capabilities.
APPROACH
As projected manager I developed a fully integrated recruiting marketing plan to engage the target audience. The plan integrated print, online, video, collateral, social networking and tools for recruiters.
RESULTS
The campaign was rolled out internally to educate and excite employees. The feedback received from over 300 recruiters was very positive and “long overdue”. The company realized significant production cost savings (FY07/$5.78/unit versus FY09/$3.2/unit) Currently, the Careers site generates the greatest amount of traffic overall with an average of 150K unique visitors per week.
